FActory architettura stems from the shared experience of Mariella Annese and Milena Farina in architectural design and research.
The work of factory focuses in particular on public space and urban regeneration. It sees design as the key tool in rethinking the delicate and problematic contexts of contemporary cities. The main issues tackled by factory are: interventions on the historical urban fabric, renovation of abandoned buildings, requalification of marginal and degraded areas.
The design process seeks a synthesis of many contradictory aspects of contemporary reality: it seeks to interpret the social value of the functional programme whilst carefully acknowledging the signs that history left behind.
