MAXXI B.A.S.E. meeting room – admittance free
within the ambit of Talking IED
Since making her debut, the talented young fashion designer Iris van Herpen (1984) has worked within the subtle confines of fashion conceived as artistic craft. Her creations with their futuristic forms are all made exclusively by hand, the fruit of continuous research into materials and the use of unusual technologies such as 3D printing.
Iris van Herpen is arousing great interest among those working in the fashion sector, with her most spectacular looks being acquired by important fashion museums as well as being requested by international stars including Lady Gaga and Björk.
Visiting Italy for the first time, the stylist will be the special guest at the next event in the Talking IED series of public conferences in which IED Rome invites figures from the world of culture and the creative professions to reflect on this academic year’s theme: creative cities.
On this occasion, the event will be hosted by MAXXI B.A.S.E., the study centre in the museum designed by Zaha Hadid.
The conference will be introduced by Tommaso Basilio, the coordinator of IED Rome’s Fashion Marketing and Communication course. The curator and journalist Federico Poletti will be moderating the event.
