A selection of the photographs presented in the exhibition held at MAXXI last year, Italy goes on holiday. Photographs from the MAXXI Architettura collection, will be exhibited at the Italian Institute of Culture in Paris.
A journey from Sicily to Trentino, exploring the vices and virtues of holidaymaking in the Bel Paese: from the crowed coastlines to the assaults on the cities of art, from the theme parks to the Medieval villages.
The photographs of Nunzio Battaglia, Giancarlo Ceraudo, Alex MacLean, Fabio Ponzio, Francesco Radino, Fulvio Ventura and Massimo Vitali portray the true connotation of the contemporary Italian landscape and the extent to which it is conditioned by human presence and activities, even the most apparently innocent and carefree.
