Rome, 6 December 2012
Mr Lorenzo Ornaghi, Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage, is pleased to announce the appointment of Beatrice Trussardi and Monique Veaute as members of the Board of Directors of the MAXXI – the National Museum of XXI Century Arts.
The President of the MAXXI, Giovanna Melandri, has released the following statement:
“I am very pleased that the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Mr Lorenzo Ornaghi, whom I would like to take this opportunity to thank, has appointed Beatrice Trussardi and Monique Veaute to the Board of Directors of the Fondazione MAXXI, which I have the pleasure to preside over”.
“Both bring important experiences and skills. We will work together to guarantee the MAXXI a role as a driving force and catalyst of contemporary creativity, to reposition the Museum internationally, and to guarantee the necessary financing, what is more working to involve the private sector”.
“The challenge represented by the MAXXI – Melandri pointed out – continues to be a feminine question. Designed by a woman – Zaha Hadid – it will now be guided by an-all female Board of Directors, comprised of Beatrice Trussardi, Monique Veaute and myself”.
