Twenty-first Century Collections

The 21th Century Collections, managed by the Architecture Archives Centre are principally composed of autograph drawings and sketches by Italian and foreign designers acquired on the occasion of exhibitions hosted by the museum or via donations and loans. The collections also accept site-specific installations and projects conceived and realised for MAXXI.
The 21th Century Collections include the drawings and models produced for the MAXXI architectural competition.

The tables and models of the 15 projects in the second phase of the International Design Competition of the contemporary arts centre (later MAXXI) in Rome and the site-specific installations and projects conceived and produced for MAXXI – such as for the Space exhibition (MAXXI, 30 May 2010 – 23 January 2011) – are also part of the XXI Century Collections.
