La villa Savoye. Icona, rovina, restauro (1948-1968)

Guido Reni Hall – admittance free subject to availability of places

A seminar devoted to an icon of architectural modernity

Designed by Le Corbusier and built between 1928 and 1931 on the outskirts of Paris for the Savoye spouses, the villa was destined to arouse immediate and continuous debate and contradictions, oscillating over the course of more 80 years between paradigm and ruin. Drawing on archive materials, drawings, correspondence, diaries, sketches and photographs – much of which previously unpublished and reproduced in the book’s visual resources – the authors recount this enthralling episode that anticipated by 20 years the debate over the restoration of the modern.
