Graziella Lonardi Buontempo Room, MAXXI B.A.S.E. – free entrance
The MAXXI is dedicating a day of study to Marisa Merz, one of Italy’s most interesting contemporary artists. The event is part of a general project offering a further occasion to examine and discuss the artist’s research, investigating the Italian art scene from the 1970s to 1990s.
The event completes a series dedicated to the artist that began with the exhibition Regarding Marisa Merz(at the MAXXI through to 6 JANUARY 2013), the core of which is the recent acquisition by the MAXXI Arte collection of Senza titolo (2009-2010); the series continued with the publication of the monograph A proposito di Marisa Merzexpanded with the call for papers inviting graduate, PhD and postdoctoral students, young researchers and scholars, to present their own original contribution in relation to the work of this artist.
