MAXXI in Action Understanding contemporary architecture

MAXXI in Action Understanding contemporary architecture
Sign, project, space. Zaha Hadid’s MAXXI as an educational resource

Who are they aimed at?
Primary and middle and upper secondary schools (max. 30 participants – 1 group class)

When are they held?
From Tuesday to Friday at 11.30 and at 14.00.

What do they involve?
Didactic workshops devoted to MAXXI, Zaha Hadid’s architectural project and her working methods and the spatial and constructional qualities and unique features of the museum. The visit to the building is itself a strong sensorial and corporeal sensation that is reinforced and supported during the workshop by a guided, informed and interactive reading of the space.

How does it work?
The workshops involve a meeting at the museum lasting 2 1/2 hours and a verification-reinterpretation phase to be undertaken at school through structured guideline modules downloadable from the MAXXI web site. Each museum meeting is divided into two phases: the visit-exploration of the building and the hands-on workshop. The first consists of a guided tour of the museum, the second of a creative reinterpretation of the issues that emerge.

How much does it cost?
€ 150.00 per group class
