War and Peace (2002) was filmed over the course of four years in India, Pakistan, Japan and the United States following nuclear testing in the Indian sub-continent. The film is a travel documentary looking at pacifist activism against militarism and global warfare, with the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948 acting as a backdrop. The story focuses on the dramatic situation of residents living close to the nuclear test sites and the horrific effects of the uranium mines on the local people.
